How to Use the Same Playlists and Cards on Multiple Computers

If you’re moving Hitmix Bingo to a new computer or want to use the same playlists and cards across multiple systems, it’s important to understand how the software tracks your files.

Hitmix Bingo uses the full file path of each audio or video file (for example:

C:\Users\UserName\Music\Neil Diamond – Sweet Caroline.mp3 ).

If that path changes, the software won’t be able to locate your files.

💻 Transferring Hitmix Bingo to Another Computer

When moving your playlists and bingo cards to a different computer, the file path is often different. For example:

C:\Users\Steve\Music\Neil Diamond – Sweet Caroline.mp3
C:\Users\Kevin\Music\Neil Diamond – Sweet Caroline.mp3
C:\Users\SarahD\Music\Neil Diamond – Sweet Caroline.mp3

If the folder structure or username changes, Hitmix Bingo will show missing file errors.

🧩 Option 1: Match the Username on the New Computer

The easiest way to transfer playlists seamlessly is to use the same username on your new computer.

  • Create a user account with the exact same username as your old computer.
  • Keep the same folder structure for your music files.
  • Copy your Hitmix Bingo folder and media files into the same locations.

This ensures the file paths remain identical, and Hitmix Bingo can find your tracks automatically.

🧩 Option 2: Use Identical Usernames on All Computers

If you use Hitmix Bingo on several machines, make sure each one has:

  • The same Windows or Mac username.
  • The same file path for your music library.

⚠️ Important:

If the username or file path differs, Hitmix Bingo will not be able to locate your audio or video files.

📂 Manual Transfer of Playlists and Bingo Cards

You can manually copy your playlists and cards between computers by transferring these folders:

Type Folder Path
Playlists C:\Users\YourUsername\Hitmix Bingo\user\
Bingo Cards C:\Users\YourUsername\Hitmix Bingo\result\

💡 Note:

This method works best if the file paths for your music files remain exactly the same on both computers.

🧠 Advanced Option: Manually Edit File Paths (For Experts)

If you’re confident editing files, you can open the .xml  files inside the folders above and manually update the file paths to match your new computer.

However, this is not recommended for novice users — it’s easy to make mistakes that stop your playlists from working properly.

🪄 Recommended for Most Users: Recreate Playlists and Bingo Cards

If the usernames or file paths differ, the safest and most reliable approach is to export and re-import your playlists.

On the Old Computer:

  1. Open Hitmix Bingo.
  2. Click Create Playlist.
  3. Open one of your existing playlists.
  4. Click Export Playlist (this saves the playlist as a folder on your desktop).
  5. Copy the exported folder to your new computer.
  6. Repeat for each playlist you wish to transfer.

On the New Computer:

  1. Open Hitmix Bingo.
  2. Click Create PlaylistNew Playlist.
  3. Click Import Playlist and select all files from the folder you transferred.
  4. Click Save File.
  5. Repeat for each imported playlist.

After re-importing your playlists, you can create new bingo cards to replace the old ones.

💡 Tip:

For best results, keep your music in a standard folder (e.g. C:\Users\YourUsername\Music\Hitmix Tracks ) on all systems — this makes transferring much easier in the future.
