Renaming a Playlist in Hitmix Bingo

Currently, Hitmix Bingo doesn’t have a built-in option to rename playlists — but you can easily do this through your computer’s file system.

Follow the steps below to rename your playlist safely.

🗂 Step 1: Open the Data Folder

  1. Open Hitmix Bingo.
  2. Click the Hitmix Bingo icon (to the left of the playlist selector).
  3. This will open the Hitmix Bingo data folder on your computer.

🧾 Step 2: Rename the Playlist File

  1. Double-click the user folder.
  2. Find the playlist you want to rename (it will have the extension .xml ).

Rename it to your desired name.

    • Example: Sounds of the 80s.xml

🃏 Step 3: Rename the Matching Cards File (If Applicable)

If you’ve already printed or created bingo cards for this playlist:

  1. Double-click the result folder.
  2. Find the file that matches your playlist name and ends with _cards.xml .
  3. Rename it to match your new playlist name — but keep the _cards.xml  extension.

Example:

  • In the user folder → Sounds of the 80s.xml
  • In the result folder → Sounds of the 80s_cards.xml

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Make sure both files use exactly the same name (before _cards.xml ) to stay linked.
  • Do not change the file extension.
  • Always close Hitmix Bingo before renaming files to avoid data conflicts.

💡 Tip:

After renaming, reopen Hitmix Bingo and check that your playlist appears under its new name in the playlist selector.
